***Note: Wood ornaments are made of real wood slices that have been lightly sanded. The surface may still be rough and grain slightly raised. This may result in some bleed around your design. These ornaments are for fun and not intended for perfection.
Step 1: Ensure surface of wood round is clean. Wipe away any debris.
Step 2: Using the brush in the kit, paint the background of your ornament. Allow to completely dry.
Step 3: Using a credit card type instrument, burnish your stencil (rub it down really well using edge of card). Do this all over stencils in all directions.
Step 4: Flip over stencil and gently pull back on the film holding your stencil. The stencil should be sticking to the transfer tape that was on the front. If not, give it another good rub down until the stencil comes away from the backing.
Step 5: Line up your stencil on the ornament. Using same card, burnish again on the ornament.
Step 6: Gently remove the transfer tape from the stencil. Your stencil should be sticking to the surface of the ornament. Use your finger to push back down anything that wants to come up.
Step 7: Once transfer tape is removed and your stencil is on the ornament use painter's tape to tape of the edges of the stencil, careful not to tape over anything you need to paint. If not using tape you'll want to take care to not paint over the edges of the stencil.
Step 8: Use a sponge from your kit to dab on a light coat of paint. Do not use swiping motions or may cause bleed. Allow paint to dry completely then dab on another coat. Apply up to 3 coats.
Step 9: Once paint is dry you can remove painters tape. Find edge of stencil and pull up until stencil is removed. A toothpick or similar item will help to remove any parts of the stencil that still remain. Enjoy your ornaments!
